Scan-Pac has three manufacturing facilities in the United States, consisting of two in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and one in Magnolia, Texas. These three facilities combine for more than 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space. In Menomonee Falls, the company produces rigid molded, flexible molded friction linings, and Gatke Phenolic flat profile parts. The Magnolia facility specializes in the production of woven friction material and Gatke Phenolic bushings, bearings, and tube products.
Scan-Pac’s plants in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin utilize over 40 compression molding presses capable of producing facings up to 48” in diameter and thicknesses up to 4”. These facilities also have several CNC milling and routing machines as well as 5 sanding machines, including a double disc grinder. Gatke Phenolic flat parts are produced on presses capable of producing parts up to 10 feet in length and 30” wide.
Scan-Pac’s Texas division is one of the last companies in the United States to still manufacture industrial woven friction material. We have two rapier style industrial looms that are used to manufacture woven friction material; one loom is used for industrial roll lining and the other for Oilfield brake blocks. Scan-Pac can weave friction material from 1/8” up to 1 ¼” thick, and 27” in width, with a standard roll length of 25 feet. For the production of Gatke Bearings and Tubes, Scan-Pac has 5 CNCs for machining bearings and bushings to the customer’s specific requirements. We can manufacture bearings up to 36” in diameter and 28” in length, in either cotton or fiberglass Phenolic materials. Our phenolic bearings and bushings are used in a wide range of applications from Screw Conveyors, Roll Stands in Steel Mills, Construction and AG Equipment, Food Processing, and many more.
The company prides itself in offering only the highest quality friction materials in the industry. Scan-Pac has been ISO 9001 certified for more than 16 years. Our commitment to quality starts on the production floor with employees who are trained to produce only the finest quality friction and phenolic bearing materials. That same commitment permeates throughout the remainder of employees and the management team. Scan-Pac Manufacturing continues to be the industry leader in development of new friction materials for difficult applications. The company employs two PhD chemists who are dedicated to formulating and developing the highest performing industrial friction materials in the market.
